November Market Report: Price Levels Recalibrated

market-report prices bmw mercedes audi november

Market Overview November 2026

This report starts with a caveat: since early October we filter expired and double-counted listings out more rigorously. As a result, price levels for most models sit noticeably below the October report – the E39 at €4,075 instead of €7,530, the W211 at €4,106 instead of €8,005. That is not a market move but a cleaner measurement, so a percentage comparison with the October report would be misleading and is omitted. Where the data basis stayed comparable, we say so explicitly.

What remains is a clear picture: mid-range youngtimers are cheaper than summer averages suggested, and the median – the price below which half of all listings sit – is the more reliable yardstick. The Trend column shows the calculated price movement per 30 days over the last 180 days, the same figure as on our model pages. All data as of October 12, 2026.

E39 5 Series€4,075€2,700+€93/30 d63
E46 3 Series€6,754€4,500+€126/30 d25
E36 3 Series€8,135€6,720+€131/30 d30
E30 3 Series€14,363€11,999−€234/30 d33
Z3€13,151€11,990+€46/30 d67
E39 M5€36,177€39,950−€3/30 d55

The E38 remains the brand’s problem child: at −€673 per month its 180-day trend is the weakest of all BMWs, with an average of €12,573 (median €11,900). A top listing at €36,990 shows collector cars still exist – but the market for ordinary 735i and 740i models sits well below that. The E39 has a median of just €2,700, the cheapest entry into the youngtimer world; the €4,075 average is lifted by a few well-kept cars up to €14,999. Its trend is slightly positive at +€93 per month.

The compacts E46 (€6,754, only 25 listings) and E36 (€8,135, 30 listings) show the brand’s strongest upward trends at +€126 and +€131 per month, but supply is thin. The E30 stands at €14,363 (median €11,999) and trends down at −€234 per month. The Z3 offers the broadest roadster selection with €13,151 and 67 listings. The E39 M5 is the only BMW with an unchanged data basis: €36,177 versus €36,595 in the October report (−1.1%) with 55 instead of 56 listings – a calm, mature market whose median of €39,950 sits above the average because a few project cars from €6,399 pull it down.

Mercedes-Benz Market Report

ModelAverageMedianTrend (180 days)Listings
W124 E-Class€10,569€6,499−€35/30 d63
W140 S-Class€13,373€12,000−€76/30 d63
W126 S-Class€14,129€12,900+€237/30 d45
W220 S-Class€6,489€4,800−€404/30 d28
W211 E-Class€4,106€4,045−€80/30 d36
R107 SL€34,427€28,054−€406/30 d44
R129 SL€23,575€21,950−€37/30 d44

The W124 shows best how far average and median can drift apart: €10,569 versus €6,499. A well-kept 230 E or 300 E realistically costs around €6,500; collector cars up to €42,500 lift the mean. The W140 stands at €13,373 (median €12,000), back on par with the E38 in this measurement. The W126 is the only Mercedes saloon with a clearly positive trend at +€237 per month.

Pressure remains on the younger series: the W220 loses €404 per month by trend (average €6,489, median €4,800, only 28 listings), and the W211 has a median of €4,045 – its range of €1,250 to €6,600 is strikingly narrow, so buyers pay little premium for condition and history. Among the roadsters the R107 weakens most at −€406 per month (average €34,427, median €28,054, top listing €89,980), while the R129 is practically stable at €23,575 (−€37 per month).

Audi Market Report

C4 A6€4,144€3,100−€66/30 d38
C6 A6€3,932€3,400+€95/30 d48
D2 A8€5,398€5,250−€477/30 d45
8N TT€5,865€4,700−€474/30 d70
RS4 B5€50,193€49,900+€625/30 d49
RS2€61,281€65,900+€125/30 d23

The C6 A6 is the most affordable model in this report at €3,932 (median €3,400) with 258,010 km on average, and the only Audi volume model with a positive trend (+€95 per month). The D2 A8 (€5,398, −€477 per month) and the 8N TT (€5,865, −€474 per month) give way most; the TT has the largest supply with 70 listings, and with a −0.66 correlation between mileage and price, odometer readings matter especially. The C4 A6 is stable at €4,144 (−€66 per month).

The top end stays firm: the RS4 B5 has the strongest upward trend of the whole report at +€625 per month, with average (€50,193) and median (€49,900) almost identical. Notably, the correlation between mileage and price is only −0.06 – with the RS4 you pay for condition, originality and history, not for kilometres. The RS2 sits at €61,281 (median €65,900, trend +€125 per month) with thin supply of 23 listings.

Seasonal Patterns and Mileage

November is historically the month of price discounts for BMW saloons. Against their annual mean, the E38 was 21.5% lower in November and 23.0% lower in December last year, the E46 9.0% lower in November, the E30 7.2% lower in November and the E39 10.1% lower in December. Autumn is therefore the classic time to use negotiating room.

Average mileage:

  • Roadsters: Z3 ~140,000 km, R107 ~138,000 km, R129 ~142,000 km
  • Classic saloons: E30 ~171,000 km, W124 ~189,000 km, E36 ~198,000 km, E46 ~206,000 km
  • Youngtimer saloons: W140 ~207,000 km, W126 ~209,000 km, E38 ~231,000 km, W220 ~241,000 km, E39 ~249,000 km, W211 ~255,000 km
  • High-mileage: C6 A6 ~258,000 km, D2 A8 ~281,000 km

The strongest link between mileage and price appears with the E39 M5 (−0.74), the 8N TT (−0.66) and the R107 (−0.65). For the RS4 B5 (−0.06) it barely matters.

Outlook for December

  • Seasonal weakness for BMW saloons: E38 (−€673 per month) and E39 usually reach their annual lows in November and December
  • Younger S- and E-Class models keep sliding: W220 and W211 show negative trends, no floor in sight
  • Winter roadster bargains: R107 and R129 trend weaker, but supply thins out
  • Stable top end: RS4 B5, RS2 and W126 show positive trends

Buy, Wait or Watch?

Buy now if you…

  • Want a C6 A6 as a high-mileage daily driver: €3,932 on average, trend +€95 per month
  • Are after a W126: the only Mercedes saloon with a rising trend (+€237 per month) will not get cheaper
  • Plan an RS4 B5 as an investment: +€625 per month, tight market

Wait until…

  • The E38 hits its seasonal low in December: −€673 per month supports that
  • The R107 gives way in winter: −€406 per month, and a €89,980 top listing distorts the average
  • The W220 has found its floor: −€404 per month

Watch…

  • The E46 and E36: positive trends on only 25 and 30 listings – good examples are scarce
  • The 8N TT: −€474 per month with the biggest selection among the Audis

November brings no turnaround but a more honest starting point: with a cleaned-up data basis and a median next to every average, the market can be read cleanly again – and winter is historically the best time to negotiate.
